The large international art collection at the National Museum will fill out the artistic context for the garments I’ll be investigating in the above collections. Seeing depictions of people actually wearing similar garments will provide a more relatable context with which to view the changing styles. The extensive selection of drawings, prints and paintings will provide examples of dress from a variety of economic backgrounds as well as putting Swedish dress into a larger international context.
